The Snake and Z Rod Pendant is a beautiful piece of jewelry that carries a rich historical significance. The pendant features a snake on a rod design, which is based on a stone carving from Newton House Aberdeenshire in the UK, dating back to around the 6th century. This symbol is found on a number of Pictish stones and is believed to represent wisdom, new life, or beginnings.

The Z-rod is one of the most enigmatic symbols found on Pictish stones, and it is usually found in combination with a serpent, a tomb/doorway, or a double-sun (double disk), possibly representing the solar cycle and the afterlife.

Pictish stones are the last remaining evidence of the ancient Picts, a group of Celtic-speaking people, or ancient Scots. The Snake and Z Rod Pendant is handcrafted from fine British pewter that is lead-free and completely safe to wear. It comes with a genuine leather neck cord that is around 20 inches or 50.8 cm in length, making it a versatile piece that can be worn with a variety of outfits.

In Celtic beliefs, the snake was respected for its wisdom and its apparent ability to renew itself by shedding its skin. This pendant is not only a beautiful piece of jewelry but also a symbol of the rich cultural history of the Picts and the ancient Celtic traditions they followed. Whether worn for its aesthetic beauty or its historical significance, the Snake and Z Rod Pendant is sure to be a treasured piece for years to come.
